Great to work with Andy, very helpful and goes above and beyond in all aspects of the project!Stefan Christie, Garment Branding Solution – Weavabel
Weavabel are bespoke clothing and garment branding specialists based in Leeds and working with suppliers across the globe. They supply products ranging from hangtags and woven labels to zip pulls and packaging. Quality and sustainability are two of the many qualities the organisation pride themselves on.
Lyke was asked to build a solution to enable customers to order bespoke products themselves. When Weavabel approached us, they had a fairly basic form on their website that enabled people to request a quotation. However this form didn’t provide any feedback to the user and meant the customer had to wait for a member of staff to produce a quote before engaging in a conversation to make the purchase, which could turn into quite a lengthy process. Additionally, Weavabel wanted a solution that could scale – enabling them to add product lines, change pricing, create new options and even integrate with an order management system at some point.
How we helped
Using WordPress + WooCommerce as a foundation, we built a fully-fledged portal that allows customers to configure and order products themselves. It is super easy for Weavabel to add new products to the portal, which they do all the time, and each product can have as many options as required. Rather than the price of each product being fixed, it is calculated using a formula which includes the options the customer has selected.
This means that not only can customers instantly receive a price, which factors in lower unit costs for higher order volumes, but also products can be ordered and paid for. This provides a huge benefit to both the customer, in terms of flexibility and time saving, and to Weavabel as it decreases the time from enquiry to purchase as well as improving cashflow. Not to mention, because the portal enables customers to self-serve the margins for Weavabel have also increased.
A key requirement for the solution was the ability for it to scale, and this goes beyond simply adding new products. As with all our solutions, we built the portal so that new features can be added at any time. For example, as of writing, we are currently working on a product designer feature so that customers can easily provide artwork at the point of ordering. This ability to scale means that Weavabel are well-positioned to respond to changing market trends and of course serve their customers as well as possible.

In addition to developing the solution above, we now offer our support and expertise across the entire organisation. We’re working closely with Weavabel to improve the functionality of their main website whilst reducing unnecessary costs. Plus, we helped them to launch two websites in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic to enable them to utilise their expertise and resources to help others: including mask4life.co.uk.
